Getting there and parking
- Day ticket €0 Free, right on the SP28.
- Spaces ≈ 15 A small area — no more cars will fit.
- Walk 2 min Just 84 metres to the beach.
- Shade 1–2 trees That's it. Without your own parasol it gets hard.
Car park: 42.804812, 10.362544 — between Bagnaia and Chiaparello on the SP28.
The beach
- Ground Rock and stone, dark. Large stones on the beach and in the water — water shoes are essential, not a suggestion.
- Character Quiet and alternative, almost hippie. Home-built driftwood huts stand under the trees, and there are few people at the water. The rocky shore can be walked — whether that adds up to a proper coastal path, we're still checking.
Wind
Wind rule: still open
On paper the bay opens towards 261–286°, i.e. west — but this is where our wind method hits its limit: inside the convoluted Gulf of Portoferraio the calculation has little explanatory power. The gulf setting probably shelters the beach, but that isn't checked.
- All directions: not yet assessed
A visible gap beats a guessed figure.
Food and drink
There is no bar and no shop at the beach. Our price index simply doesn't apply here — there's nothing to buy. Bring water, food and a parasol; the nearest bars and a small supermarket are in neighbouring Bagnaia.
Our verdict
A hippie-ish beach for anyone who likes it quiet and alternative and enjoys a walk along the rocky shore.
… you want to walk barefoot over soft sand. Here it's rock and large stones, in the water too.
… you need shade and have no parasol with you. One or two trees won't do.
… you expect a beach bar. There isn't one.
